ARP 2500 - sync with 0-c0ntrol & AE modular

Some personal notes of syncing the ARP2500 with external gear.

I'm using the ARP2500 sequencer as the master clock.... the 1027 module

It's sending a clock into the 0-control clock input

The clock out from the 0-control goes into
the AE modular

Its the orange cable ... into the 4 I/O.

The 4 I/O is a great & safe way to input/output external audio and Cv
Importantly, the sockets have overvoltage protection
(as AE modular is limited to 5V).

They can be switched between audio and DC/CV signals.

The output from the 4 I/O is driving the trigger sequencer
TRIQ164

Finally, CV and gates/envelopes from the 0-control enter the AE modular via the Master I/O

I'm not sure if the input/output is voltage protected.
Though seems to work without any probs ....but if you're worried
the external voltages might be too high, its better to use the 4 I/O
and keep things below the 5V level.

poultry in motion - part 2 - build notes

This is part 2 of my build notes for the Poultry in Motion Module.
Some parts arrived so I can move forward a bit.

The PIM module is a NLC eurorack multi purpose module.
It's a
VC Delay with a sync out.
Clock-divider
Clock (the PT2399 is the clock source)
VCO (with 12 suboscillator outputs)

Part 1 of the build is here:

Some NLC words of wisdom

This spotify link contains links to more of Hasil's music.
The description of his life is well worth reading.

IF you like really bad zombie comedy movies watch this:
"Die you zombie bastards".
Hasil Adkins plays himself.
Synopsis: the serial killer-super hero has to rescue his cannibal wife  from the clutches of an evil zombie.

Back to the build...

The Cd4060
the 4060 is a 14-bit binary Ripple Counter.
Has a built in oscillator

The 74HC4040

and CD4040

4040 -  divider/ripple counter/Binary counter.
There is an internal chain of divide by 2 circuits. The first output will have half
the frequency of the clock, the next output will have half the frequency of that, etc etc

--------------------
Schottky diodes are for voltage protection

Andrew uses MBR0540 in a sod-123 package.
"Any with 30V+ and 0.25A+ ratings will
do. dot on PCB indicates CATHODE
(stripe on component).

---------------------------

Caps are on.

The 22pf caps.
I'm keeping the caps. but

If you want the egg timer function to be really accurate, there
are holes to install a trimpot rather than a 22pF capacitor. If doing
so leave off the 22pF between the holes and install a trimpot around
30-40pF (Tayda: A-2496 or A-2497). Tweak the trimpot with a frequency
counter to get it tight. If just using two 22pF, it is still pretty
good; I measure 16.0001 Hz (my scope needs to see over 10Hz to get a
frequency reading).

 to be continued...

Durer's House - Nuremberg Germany

 Albrecht Durer's House.
Albrecht Dürer (1471–1528), Germany's most famous artist, lived and worked in this massive 5 story, half-timbered house for nearly 20 years, from 1509 onwards.
The house was built in1420.

The House lies in the extreme north-west of Nuremberg's Altstadt, near the Kaiserburg section of the Nuremberg Castle and the Tiergärtnertor of Nuremberg's city walls

The Rabbit (Der Hase).
Bronze , Homage to Durer
Jurgen Goertz 1984.

This chair is a Italian Renaissance style called a Savonarola or Dante Chair.

The design comes from the ancient Roman X-shaped chair that was very popular in medieval Italy.
It is one of the oldest forms of chair or stool, with examples reaching back to the 2nd millennium  BC
