Capacitors


Polarity.


Electrolytic capacitors usually have a stripe. 
Stripe = NEGATIVE lead. 
If it's an axial leaded capacitor (leads come out of opposite ends of the capacitor), the stripe may be accompanied by an arrow that points to the negative lead.
In my experience, electro caps usually follow the same convention as used in LEDs
Most aluminum caps come with the positive lead longer than the negative and when inserting them I aim the longer lead for the square hole.
