NLC - BEAT FREQS - Build notes

These are my build notes for the Nonlinear Circuits "Beat Freqs" module
Its eurorack format.

The BEAT FREQS has gates ... lots of gates .... use it as a chaotic gate sequencer/event generator.
Its great for driving drums
This module is based on an earlier one:

The original had CV inputs, pots and an XNOR output.
This new "improved" version gets 12 extra gate outputs and a lot more flashing LEDs.

The idea is to feed the circuit two signals and depending upon which one had the higher frequency the ring of 4 LEDs would light up in a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction. The speed of rotation would indicate how close or disparate the frequencies are. If the signals have the same frequency then just one LED is lit.

Parts:
4070 x1 Soic Mouser: 595-CD4070BM96 yes
Same IC used in the divide and conquer module.
Its an IC with four XOR gates

TL072 or TL082 1 Soic Tayda: A-1139
LL4148 2 Tayda: A-1213

Reverse voltage protection
Im using a BAT54GWX, Mouser: 841-BAT54GWX

BC847 x16 Tayda: A-1339

3mm LED 16 bright ones!

CD4555 x2 soic Mouser: 595-CD4555BNSR
This is a CMOS Dual Binary to 1 of 4 Decoder/Demultiplexer

CD 40193 1 Soic Mouser: 595-CD40193BNSR
CMOS Presettable Up/down counter .... order

Resistors & Caps.
Lots of 2.2k resistors
RL ... Im using 2K

Get the jacks on first

LEDs

Finished.
Using 2 inputs:

Don't you just love it when it works the first time.
