Its a matrix mixer.

Part 1 is here:
  • Headers.
  •
  • These connect the two PCBs
  • I'll used S1JL voltage rectifiers in the beginning but swapped to slottky diodes\

  • The front panel. needs four on-off-on toggle switches
  •
  •
  •
  •
  •
  •
  •
  •
  •
  • also 16 x B100K (linear) pots

  •  24 sockets
  •

  • ....

  •  final calibration time.
  • You need to adjust these 16 blue trimmers

  • If you look carefully, you will see labels such as 1a , 1b 1c..... 2 a, 2b .....3a, 4a etc etc
  • Each trimmer sets its own VCA
  •  I used a simple Elby scope : ED 701

  • ...
    Andrews calibration  instructions are perfect.

start with the top left pot (called 1a)
  •      The columns are numbered 1234 and the rows are to be
    known as a, b, c & d.
  •      So looking at the panel; 1a is the top left
corner pot and 4d is the bottom right corner pot.
Turn all pots to zero except 1a.
  •     Turn 1a to maximum. Measure the
voltage on output a (the top most output) with a multimeter set to
    DCV or an oscilloscope.
Locate the VCA labelled 1a on the PCB and tweak the 1k trimpot until
    the output measures 0V.
Turn 1a pot to zero, turn 2a pot to max, find VCA 2a on PCB, tweak
    trimpot until output measures 0V..
etc etc

  •

  • Repeat until you have adjusted all the pots.
  • That should be it. you are good to go.
