Allinaire Jondent - HARD MOOG
....
Some '4 on the floor' from Moog featuring the DFAM, Subharmonicon and Matriarch.
About 95% of the track is all MOOG goodness (with some additional percussion and processing in Ableton).
A collaboration between Allinaire and Jondent, put together from 2 live jams in Sydney and Wollongong during Feb 2022...

NLC Hyperchaos Deluxe
These are my build notes for the NLC Hyperchaos Deluxe module.
It's a nonlinearcircuits eurorack module.
It's based on the:
There are 10different CV outputs and 2gate outputs.
The CV IN is associated with the CLIMAX pot which determines how high the peaks go. The module can be greatly influenced by the CV in signal and can exhibit some fairly nutty responses at times.
Use a fast PWM signal on gate input to get different operating frequencies, change to pulse width to vary
The virgin PCBs
The Rate input can be used in a few different ways:
1. With nothing patched in the circuit operates in slow mode
2. With a cable patched in, but its other end hanging loose, the circuit operates in fast mode.
3. Feed a gate signal to the Rate input and the circuit will vary between fast and slow modes (gate high = slow)
4. Feed a fast clock signal and you can get the circuit to operate at different speeds.
This is quite dependent upon the frequency of the incoming clock and can take some tweaking to get right. If the clock is too fast it will mainly appear to be in slow mode
NLC is as aussie as vegemite.

NLC 32:1 - build notes
This is a Driscoll/Warren Burt inspired Eurorack module.
I am lucky to have the original Driscoll module on which this is based
so am keen to compare the two.
The 32:1 can split 1 input into 32 outputs or vice versa.
This uses two CMOS analog multiplexers.
The DG506B is a 16-channel single-ended analog multiplexer designed to
connect one of sixteen inputs to a common output as
determined by a 4-bit binary address (A0, A1, A2, A3).
It also uses two CMOS up/down counters.
The CD4029 is a presettable up/down counter which counts in either binary or decade mode depending on the voltage level applied at binary/decade input.
When binary/decade is at logical ``1'', the counter
counts in binary, otherwise it counts in decade. Similarly, the
counter counts up when the up/down input is at logical ``1'' and
vice versa.
The inputs consist of a clock (15), Carry In (5), Binary Decade (9), UpDown(10), Preset Enable(1)
and 4 individual jam signals.
The outputs : Q1,Q2,Q3,Q4 and a Carry Out (7).
Some NLC words of wisdom.
PCB 1.
I accidently removed a trace from thr PCB connecting to one of the multiplexers. Thus the addition of that green wire.
The second mistake I made was adding the jacks before putting on the headers.
I used 1K LED resistors

"The LEDs count in binary, so just 5 of them...rather than 32".
I'm guessing they count from Zero to 31 ??
Decimal "32" is Binary "100000".................to display this would require 6 LEDs
To convert decimal 32 to binary is easy as 32 is already in the table.

I just confirmed with Andrew F that the module does indeed count from 0-31.

Fairlight Synth - Initial pics
Thought I'd upload some pics while this baby is behaving.
At times she has a mind of her own.:-)
This is the first page you will see when the Fairlight boots: Page 1, the Index.
Page 2: Disk Control
Provides a directory of all the files currently loaded.
Type P2<return> to access page 2.
Files with the ending ".VC" are voice or sound files.
Files that end in ".IN" are instrument files.
Type L,A,filename<return> to load a file.
eg to load a file named GONG1.VC
type L,A,GONG1 <return>
You don't need to add the .VC after the file name.
Typing L,A,filename<return>
actually loads the voice file into registry A.
There are 8 registries named A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H
So to load a voice file into registry B type:
L,B,filename<return>
(after you have selected registry B)
This is Page 6
Page 6 (Waveform drawing) can be accessed by typing P6<return>
This page allows direct drawing of audio waveforms using a lightpen.
This is page 7 (Control Parameters)
This allows you to set, modify & control the parameters for each sound file such as the volume, attack, decay, portomento, etc
You can of course reach this page by typing P7.
And finally the famous "Page D"
It's the Voice Waveform Display.
You reach it by typing "PD<return>"
Page D shows a 3D picture of the waveforms of any voice.
There are 2 formats:
A (above) and B (below)
Format B has a much higher resolution than Format A, but is less "3D" in appearance.
To Display a waveform:
select Format A type " DA<return>"
select Format B type "DB<return>"
select (new) End Segment Type "D,e<return>"
select (new) End Seg & step Type D,e,s<return>"
where e = end segment number (32.64,128 only)
where s = step value (1,2,4 & 8)

3trins to banana breakout box
The 3trins mini patchbay is wonderful but at times difficult to see (esp in low light).
And I'm a big fan of bananas. .. they are stackable and fast.
My initial attempts were to build a permanent panel.
Soon ditched this in favour of one that I can plug in and remove when I like.
