Roger Waters Us & Them Tour - Sydney 2018

Some snippets of last night.

The original pig that was floated above Battersea Power Station was called "Algie".
It was designed by Roger Waters in 1976.

 Qudos Bank Arena.

This is from Roger Waters' Us and Them Tour.
... incredible performance. The light and sound show was nothing short of spectacular.

The Battersea Power Station plays a big role in the concert.

Its image was projected onto screens that were supported by suspended scaffolding which was lowered
above the audience .. complete with smoking chimneys.
The original coal fired station was built in the 1930s and was included on the cover art of Pink Floyd's 1977 album Animals and its appearance in the 1965 Beatles' film Help!
It is one of the largest brick buildings in the world.

In 1965, Waters co-founded the progressive rock band Pink Floyd with drummer Nick Mason, keyboardist Richard Wright, and guitarist, singer, and songwriter Syd Barrett.

Waters is certainly not a fan of Trump. Lot's of images of Trump.....vomiting, driving a toy car, as a  naked man, etc .

His face appeared on a giant helium filled drone pig that floated around the room.

“Please help we are trapped in a dystopian nightmare”

The first half of the show was full of images of drone warfare and the refugee crisis.
Waters hasn't stopped his fight against injustice.

The end was brillant. The pyramid visuals were something I will always remember. The audience gave a standing ovation. Waters was visibly moved & emotional from it all. Thanks Roger.

Modular On The Lounge

The first MOTL (Modular On The Lounge) .... held at a secret location in Wollongong, NSW, Australia.

All my synth friends were dying for a chance to get together, chat about synths, and get some performance practice.
So we found a living room and couched it for the night.

 A great turnout.

We set up a projector and a Video Synth.

Justin from Metro Modular showed us some of his new modules.

This modular just arrived back from Japan.

The MM339A Gainriding VCF
I'm especially looking forward to this filter as it's original designer was Dennis Colins who had a hand in designing the ARP 1047 filter (for the ARP system 2500).

MM6031B Marshall LPF Explorer Edition

Hopefully there will be more of these nights in the future.

From scattering rays to altering consciousness, EF17 sets an open platform for experimental ideas, practices and techniques. Interact with bioelectrical machines, dance to a raw music program, and learn how to mousejack your housemate's computers all for FREE over one day

Modular in the CarPark - inagurial event - Wollongong

Sunday, 16th July, 2017.
Many thanks to Claude Spinelli & Andrew G for helping put this event together.

The location was Prosound and Lighting, Wollongong.
Address: 16 Flinders St, Wollongong NSW 2500

Anyone with a synth, drum machine, etc was welcome to come, watch and perform. The synth didn't have to be modular.

 Keyboards were welcome too.

The event was free, with sausage sizzles and barista coffee.
A good place to network with electronic musicians in the Sydney/Illawarra area.
l
Lots of great tunes too.

If you would like to perform at the next gig please leave a message here or contact Claude at Pro Sound and Lighting. (02) 4226 1177
