Cushendun Village & caves in Northern Ireland

 Cushendun is a small coastal village in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.
It sits off the A2 coast road between Cushendall and Ballycastle. 

It has a sheltered harbour and lies at the mouth of the River Dun and Glendun,
one of the nine Glens of Antrim.

The Cushendun Caves are located in County Antrim in Northern Ireland.
Although they are very old, they are known to the public only since the broadcast
of the “Game of Thrones” series (the Iron Throne), the series
having shot some emblematic scenes within the caves.
A must for fans, and lovers of unsuspected tourist treasures!

The Giant's Ring - Belfast

 Some pics of a trip I made to Ireland ages ago.

This is from a very special place in Northern Ireland , just outside Belfast.

 

This site dates from the Neolithic period and was built around 2700BC...

 

 

It's older than the pyramids

 

 

It's like hundreds of other passage tombs built in Ireland during the Neolithic period, such as Newgrange,  

... of course not as big.

It is near the Shaw's Bridge crossing of the River Lagan,
