Allinaire Jondent - HARD MOOG

....

Some '4 on the floor' from Moog featuring the DFAM, Subharmonicon and Matriarch.
About 95% of the track is all MOOG goodness (with some additional percussion and processing in Ableton). A collaboration between Allinaire and Jondent, put together from 2 live jams in Sydney and Wollongong during Feb 2022...

Moog sub harm & DFAM 10

...

Night Owl Patch

This will be released on my 3rd album - Pursuit of Harmony.

 TRIGGER out of the DFAM ----> Clock in from the SUB H
This is the sync. The DFAM is master.

This is a interesting patch as adjusting the VCA envelopes on either synth will
have an effect on the other synth.
DFAM VCA EG Out to Subharmonicon Cutoff In
DFAM Pitch out to Sub VCA in

The Trigger from the DFAM effects the PWM of VCO1

Moog Mother 32 & DFAM Jam # 1

..

 This will be released on my 3rd album - Pursuit of Harmony.

Some patch notes
The Politics of Trust
I clocked everything to abelton using a touchprone MIDI to Clock converter
The sync:
DFAM Trigger out ----> M32 Tempo in.
This really speeds things up.

Another way to sync is:
DFAM Trigger out ----> M32 RUN / STOP in

M-32 & DFAM acid patches

Some New Years Day patching.
Ive been planning to play around with these puppies for ages and never quite had the time.
I guess lockdowns have a few advantages

The Moog Mother 32 and DFAM sound great together. I love acid sounds and its one of the first things I seem to gravitate to whenever I play with a new synth.

Though Moog use transistor filters in comparison to Roland's diode ladder filters, I think they still
make for good 303 imitations and add a slightly different feel to the acid sounds we love.

Below are a few different patches to try out.
Of course these are just starting off points.
Working through some of these patches is a great way to learn how to use these synths
Actually, I still prefer the acid sound I get from the DFAM, but these are also pretty good.
https://djjondent.blogspot.com/2021/12/dfam-moog-acidish-baseline.html

The addition of a mother 32 to the setup means its really easy to clock this (using MIDI) from a DAW such as Abelton.
--------------------------------------------

This first patch combines "Tribal Drums" with the "Classic Acid bass" patch.

Patch the gate out from M32 to Clock/adv of Dfam (red)    This is how you sync these two machines.
The M32 is the master.

 This next one is the "Acid is the way patch". from the studio bundle.

1. Patch the gate out from M32 to Clock/adv of Dfam (red)
    This is how you sync these two machines.
2. Assign (M32) ---> mult (M32) (orange)
 3. Mult 2 ---> VCmix Ctrl (green)
4. Mult 1 --->  LFO rate (purple)
Thus, the signal from the assign out controls both the mixer and the LFO rate.
 The assign out jack is really impt in this patch.
 This is as the name suggests an assignable output, who's function is programmed in setup mode.
It can be anything from clocks, random voltage steps, triggers, to MIDI CC

5. EG ----> mix 2 (yellow)
   Mix 1 & mix2 are inputs to a voltage controlled mixer.
   Thus, the M32’s VC mix is used as a VCA. It controls the amplitude of M32’s envelope.
6. VCF Mix ---> VCF cutoff (blue)

7. VCO Saw Out ----> Ext. Audio In. (pink)
whenever a cable is plugged into this jack, it overides the noise to this jack (clockwise position on the M32s main mixer. Thus in this case, a sawtooth wave replaces the noise source on M32’s mix knob.

8. M32 LFO Tri Out -----> M32 Mix CV In. (red)
Thus M32’s triangle LFO controls the mix knob.

9. M32 LFO Square Out ----> DFAM 1-2 FM Amt input. (green)
 Thus M32’s square LFO controls the FM depth on the DFAM.

10. DFAM Pitch Out to DFAM Noise Level In. (dark red)
This will make DFAM’s pitch sequencer control the noise level of DFAM.

11. DFAM VCF EG Out to Mother-32 VCF Res In. (pink)
This will make DFAM’s VCF envelope control the resonance level of Mother-32’s VCF.

------------------------

This last one combines the Da Funk Patch with my variation of the big bottom Bass patch.
The original BBB patch set the seq pitch mod switch to off, which disabled the top sequencer.
The VCF mod knob amt is impt.
The vcf mod polarity of the m32 can be both -ve or positive, but +ve is better
(i have it marked -ve in the pic)
And both square & saw sound good on the m32.

The gate from the M32 needs to be multed. One copy patched to the clock input of the DFAM
and another to the VCA CV input of the M32

DFAM - Moog - Acidish Baseline

 Certainly not a 303 but a really cool baseline.

The more I use this box, the more I realise it isn't a drum machine.... well it is ... but...
Oh dear. i might have to buy a second one to be a drum.
