These are my build notes for the Kareishuu VCO.
It's an unusual name for a VCO.
I think it originates from the Japanese word "karei-shu" which refers to the smell of old men.
Japanese culture places value on personal hygiene. In recent years, the Japanese have
been dismayed to encounter what they call karei-shu - a type of body odor that increases
with age, sometimes called "old person smell."
Anuway, this module is a upgraded version of the NLC Dual OTA VCO.
I built that VCO many years ago ... its was actually my second NLC build.
The new & improved Kareishuu is still a traditional triangle core VCO with a built in VCA for the FM control section. The design draws on sections of the Electronotes EN1, EN2 and EN3 VCOs along with some NLC injected in there for good measure.
